E.A. Grant for Wheel
The Environment Agency have agreed to fund the building of an extensive platform on Wheel Pond to help with coaching activities. Naturally all anglers will be able to use it when not being used for coaching but the work which will cost something in the region of £15 000 is nanother boost for the club resulting from the support the club offers to its juniors by working to meet certain standards via the Clubmark award. We will let you know when work starts in earnest but measuring up has already taken place.
Juniors’ Milemead Trip
Approximately 20 members went on the annual outing to Milemead today. The weather was a mixture of sunshine, showers and sometimes blustery conditions. The vast majority of participants elected to fish on the match lake which under the circumstances was a wise decision as all caught several Carp as well as Barbel and Chub on the feature filled lake. Callum Evans had the largest Barbel at 2lb A couple of anglers decided to go for the big roach in the carp lake and it was pretty hard going for most of the day as the smaller specimens were out in force

Anti-social Behaviour
Unfortunately we have had problems at Charlecombe and Sawmills due to the anti-social behaviour of a few anglers. Please be aware to pacify our lanlords we have had to impose a few temporary restrictions. Please contact the appropriate bailiff directly if you wish for an update or to pass on any helpful information. Numbers are in the rule book.

Notes from August’s Committee meeting.
The meeting opened with a disciplinary where an angler had been swimming in Dores pond to free a tethered fish. The angler got into difficulty and had to be rescued by another angler. Remember no fish is worth a life and there should be no swimming or wading on Club waters in any circumstances. The Committee thanked Jeff Martin for all his hard work on the waters over the years. Jeff did lots for the Club during his time on the Committee. The Club is looking to buy a pump as the water pumped from Linhay into Wheel recently did a
Trolley discussion.
